hey brittayo

this is an advertisement on a lift in one of the tube stations.

viva espana

oh, wow. i dont really know where to begin.

first night out...

met up with ben for an early drink at waxy o'connors right by piccadilly. had a drink or two, met some kids from san diego that were visiting for the weekend and watched the euro cup championship, then moved to covent garden for a quieter drink so we could chat with ben. we drank some wife beating juice (stella artois). then walked with ben back to the tube and follow the crazy spainards. as im sure you all know spain won

spain 1 germany 0

things got crazzzzzy. it was awesome.

so seeing as it was a sunday the bars closed around 1030pm. so the streets became our place of leisure. we ran into our san diego friends on the street in a crowd of crazy fans and they pointed us in the direction to a store to buy beer and wine. we bought a huge jug of wine and a 12 of beer
(as they were closing the gate to the fridge, people almost lost limbs trying to get alcohol before it closed fully) and proceeded onward into the crowd of people singing ohhh laaaay oh lay oh lay oh lay.

while in the store we friended two espaina fans who were dressed as matadors. one decided to run into the street and treat the on coming cars as if they were bulls with his red cape. as the crowd moved we began to follow. we went through the streets of london, cheering, carrying on and drinking. ended at trafalgar square and stood in aw of these excited fans. the whole square was filled with people singing oh lay and screaming viva espania and play in the fountains and drinking. it was pretty neat.

after all that hoopla a new adventure arose when we had to figure out how to get home without the tube seeing as it was past 11...we decided to find a bus. and seeing as none of us knew anything it was interesting. caitlin and i are excellent drunk navigators and after the great wall of china pee breaks and lots of running around and asking door men "how do we get to king;s cross" we were told bus 73. every bus stop for the hour after that of course was not 73....then just when we were about to give up hope we found one and it brought us back to home sweet home...very loudly and drunkenly....and we rode on the top part.
(thank you to the san diego boys for walking us so far and probably getting yourselves lost on the way, it was much appreciated!)

there are a lot of pictures so i am just going to post a few... they are out of order but you get the point im sure.

oh ps

this is what i look out onto every night from my bed... goodnight london, sleep tight...

cheers

so, we arrived safely. very brain dead... but safely none the less.
it was goodbye baltimore.
whats up british airways flight.
and finally, hellllooo london.

our flight went off without a hitch.
they had arrested development on the entertainment section and free red wine, so i was all set.
had a little trouble when we landed bc there was no steps for our plane and we had to sit there for about 45 minutes. and then i almost didnt get through immigration bc i am an idiot (duh) and forgot my paper, so after about 20 mins of a lady yelling at me she stamped my passport and melissa and i were ready to embark on our journey with luggage that weighed more than 7 sumo wrestlers. but we made it, easily surprisingly. the place we are staying we have been informed is located in somewhat of the ghetto, however the place is sweet.
checking in was painless and things were great until my bad luck struck again and my room door didnt close from the outside and my electric key wasnt working and it took the entire nido staff and a few hours to fix. being so brain dead melissa and i decided that is isnt a good idea to venture out too far so we just walked around and i took some pictures. finally figured out how to call people with all the crazy numbers. and now we are just relaxing, deciding where we want to eat/grab a beer that is local and doesnt involve the tube.
enjoy the pics!
